Hello, I'm Tom
I'm a GOsC registered osteopath based in Leeds city centre. For over a decade I've helped people get out of pain and back to the activities they love — whether that's playing sport, picking up their children, or simply sitting comfortably at a desk. I treat everything from acute injuries to long-standing chronic conditions, and I take the time to understand what's really going on before I start any treatment.
My approach is evidence-based and hands-on. I combine soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisation, and manipulation with clear, practical advice on movement, posture, and self-management. I don't believe in creating dependency — my goal is to get you better and keep you better, with as few sessions as possible.
When I'm not in clinic, you'll usually find me running along the canal, watching Leeds Rhinos, or exploring the Yorkshire Dales with my dog. I grew up in West Yorkshire and I'm proud to serve the community I call home.
How I Became an Osteopath
A rugby injury in my early twenties changed everything. It led me to an osteopath — and ultimately to a career I'm passionate about.
I'd always been active and sporty, but a serious back injury during a club rugby match left me struggling to walk properly for weeks. Physiotherapy helped manage the symptoms, but it was an osteopath who finally identified the underlying cause and got me properly better. That experience was a turning point. I wanted to understand the body at that level — and I wanted to give other people the same relief I'd been given.
I went on to study at the British School of Osteopathy (now the University College of Osteopathy) in London, earning a Master of Osteopathy degree. During my training I gained clinical experience treating a huge variety of patients — from office workers and pregnant women to elite athletes and elderly patients with mobility issues. Every case reinforced what I already believed: that the body has a remarkable ability to heal itself when you remove the barriers.
After graduating, I spent several years working alongside GPs, physiotherapists, and sports medicine consultants before setting up my own practice here in Leeds. I wanted to create a clinic where patients felt heard, where appointments weren't rushed, and where every treatment was tailored to the individual. That's exactly what I've built, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Qualifications & Registrations
I am fully qualified, registered, and insured to practise osteopathy in the United Kingdom.
How I Work With You
Every patient is different. Here's what you can expect when you come to see me.
Listen & Understand
I start by asking detailed questions about your pain, your history, and your daily life. Understanding the full picture is essential before any hands-on work begins.
Assess & Diagnose
I carry out a thorough physical examination — testing your range of motion, posture, and joint function to identify exactly where the problem is coming from.
Treat
Using a combination of soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, and manipulation, I target the root cause of your pain. I explain what I'm doing and why at every stage.
Empower
I give you exercises, stretches, and practical advice so you can manage your condition between sessions and reduce the risk of it coming back.
What I Believe In
These principles guide every treatment I provide and every interaction I have with my patients.
Evidence-Based Practice
Every technique I use is grounded in clinical evidence and anatomical science. I stay current with the latest research so my patients always receive the most effective treatment available.
Patient-Centred Care
You know your body better than anyone. I listen carefully, involve you in every decision, and tailor each treatment plan to your specific needs, goals, and lifestyle.
Long-Term Wellness
I'm not interested in quick fixes that don't last. My aim is to resolve the underlying cause of your pain and equip you with the tools to stay well long after treatment ends.
I'd put up with a dodgy shoulder for over a year before seeing Tom. He found the problem in my first appointment and within four sessions it was completely sorted. He's thorough, explains everything clearly, and genuinely cares about getting you better. I wouldn't go anywhere else now.
