Hello, I'm Eleanor

I'm a BACP-registered integrative psychotherapist based in Harrogate. For over twelve years, I've had the privilege of supporting people through some of the most challenging periods of their lives — helping them find clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of wellbeing.

My training in integrative psychotherapy means I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, tailoring each session to the unique needs of the individual. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship difficulties, I work collaboratively with you to explore what lies beneath the surface and build lasting change. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of all meaningful progress.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy long walks in the Yorkshire Dales, getting lost in a good book, and spending time with my family. I believe that therapists are human too, and that genuine connection starts with being real.

How I Got Here

A personal experience with a family member's mental health struggles first drew me to psychotherapy — and that same sense of purpose drives my work to this day.

When someone close to me went through a period of serious emotional difficulty, I saw first-hand how the right therapeutic support could help a person find their way back. The compassion and skill of the therapist who helped my family changed everything, and I knew then that I wanted to offer that same experience to others.

I went on to complete my MSc in Psychotherapy, training in integrative approaches that allow me to meet each client where they are. I spent several years working in NHS and charity settings, gaining experience with a wide range of presentations, before opening my private practice here in Harrogate. Every day I draw on that early experience to connect with my clients — because I know first-hand what it feels like to need help, and how much it matters when you find someone who truly listens.

How We'll Work Together

Every person is different. Here's what you can expect when we work together.

1
Step One

A Free Initial Chat

We'll have a brief, no-obligation phone call where you can tell me a little about what's brought you to therapy. I'll explain how I work and we'll see if it feels like a good fit. There's no pressure — this is your time to ask questions and feel heard.

2
Step Two

Your First Session

In our first session, I'll take time to understand your history, your current difficulties, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together we'll begin to shape a therapeutic plan that feels safe, manageable, and right for you.

3
Step Three

Ongoing Therapy

We'll meet regularly — usually weekly — in a consistent, confidential space. Drawing on integrative and evidence-based approaches, we'll work at your pace to explore patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop new ways of coping and relating.

4
Step Four

Review & Ending

We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our work as needed. When the time is right, we'll plan a thoughtful ending to therapy — reflecting on what you've achieved and ensuring you feel confident and equipped to move forward independently.

The Principles That Guide My Work

These values shape every interaction I have with the people I work with.

Compassion

I meet every client with genuine warmth and empathy, without judgement. Whatever you are feeling, whatever you have been through, you deserve to be heard and understood. My role is to walk alongside you with care and respect.

Safety & Trust

Therapy only works when you feel truly safe. I am committed to creating a confidential, boundaried space where you can be open and vulnerable without fear. Everything shared in our sessions remains strictly between us.

Inclusivity

My practice is open and affirming to people of all backgrounds, identities, and orientations. I believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, professional therapeutic support, and I am committed to creating a space where all are welcome.

I'd struggled with anxiety for years before finding Eleanor. From the very first session, I felt safe and understood. She helped me make sense of things I'd carried for a long time, and gave me tools I still use every day. I can honestly say therapy with Eleanor changed my life.
